Arthritis Pain FAQ

Still have a question? Call us and a member of our team will help.

What types of arthritis do you treat?

We help people with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriatic arthritis in the spine, hips, knees, shoulders, hands, and other joints. For inflammatory types, we work alongside your physician.

Is exercise safe if I have arthritis?

For most people, yes. The right kind of exercise is an important part of arthritis care, because strong muscles support and protect the joint. Your therapist picks exercises that fit your joints and adjusts them on days when you are sore.

Should I use heat or ice on my joints?

Heat often helps morning stiffness, while ice can help a joint that is swollen after activity. We will help you figure out what works best for your joints.

How soon will I feel a difference?

It varies from person to person. Some people notice less stiffness within a few weeks, while others take longer. We track your progress and adjust your plan as you go.

What should I bring to my first appointment?

Bring your insurance card, a list of your medications, and any relevant medical records or imaging, such as X-rays of the affected joints.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We accept most major plans, including Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare, and we verify your benefits before your first visit. Call (908) 282-3737 and we will check your coverage.
