Neck Pain FAQ

Still have a question? Call us and a member of our team will help.

What usually causes neck pain?

The most common causes are poor posture, muscle strain, disc problems, wear and tear in the neck joints, and whiplash. Stress and long hours looking at screens also play a big part for many people.

When should I get my neck pain checked?

Come in if your pain has lasted more than a few weeks, keeps you from work or sleep, or comes with numbness, tingling, or weakness in your arms or hands. Those arm symptoms can mean a nerve is involved and should be looked at.

What can I do at home until my first visit?

Keep moving gently within what feels comfortable, take regular breaks from your desk or phone, and try heat or ice to see which feels better. Avoid holding your head in one position for a long time.

Will my treatment include neck adjustments?

Only if they suit you and you are comfortable with them. Many patients do well with gentle mobilization, soft tissue work, exercise, and acupuncture instead. You always have a say in your plan.

Can I see more than one of your providers for my neck?

Yes. Many patients combine physical therapy, chiropractic care, and acupuncture. Because your providers work under one roof, they coordinate your visits and share one plan.

Do you accept insurance?

Yes. We accept most major plans, including Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna, and UnitedHealthcare, and we verify your benefits before your first visit. Call (908) 282-3737 and we will check your coverage.
